The Shadowbound was an Altmer vampire and extremely skilled assassin. He came into the service of the Council of Nine several years before the Blight Wars. He was operating in Cyrodiil when he crossed paths with the Khajiit assassin, Karsh, who he immediately recognized as a vampire, though not aligned with Bal. Circumstances forced the two apart before the pair could come to blows.
He frequently took on jobs for the council, and the cult of Molag Bal. He eventually met Krayess Settarin, grandmaster of the Order of the Drake. The two quickly became allies. Settarin respected the assassins skill with his glaive and daggers, while the assassin was impressed by the Orders' unique and powerful vampiric abilities.
His presence in Skyrim, working for the Council of Nine, inevitably brought him into contact with the Coven, the Order of the Silver Sun, and the Paladins of Arkay, all of whom attempted to kill him. Despite the multitude of enemies after him, the Altmer evaded or killed them all. Eventually, the Shadowbound crossed paths with Karsh once more.
